                   Hunt

Listen... "First things first!" declared the ghost. "This body does not belong to you," said the spirit, as he pointed to the dead body of the tiger they had killed. Then, Magically the ghost’s dead body floated in mid-air. It was the ghost; the ghost was moving the body with his magical powers. The body was tossed away out of the camp. Nowhere could it be seen.

Then magically, the King’s gun seemed to rise from the ground and float in mid-air. The spirit was controlling the King's gun. The gun floated slowly, moving straight towards the King. The King now knew that he was the target. The King was very frightened. "No! Please! Forgive me! I'll do anything!" he begged. "I'll give you ten seconds to run and hide," said the mighty spirit. The King ran. The gun was aimed close to the King's leg while shooting not at the King, but on the ground on which he was running. "Kpow!" went the gun. The ghost missed the King on purpose. The bullet hit the ground, but gave the King a big scare! The King continued to run. "Kpow!" went the gun. "Owe! Aaah! Aah!," the King cried in pain. The bullet went through the King’s leg. The gun that was floating in mid-air suddenly dropped to the ground.

Listen... The King was crying in pain, and slowly bleeding to death. He had a very high fever. The throbbing pain in his leg was hard to bare. He was feeling very dizzy, sweating, and about to pass out. The bullet had gone through a bone, and the King’s leg, covered in blood, was a very unpleasant sight to see. He was weak and helpless. The ghost used his magical powers once more, and the gun floated straight to the King’s head. The barrel of the gun was within one inch of the King’s head, floating in mid-air. The King could not respond. He was already in a great deal of pain, and he could not bare the idea of a bullet going through his head. He wanted to say "No." But all he could do was shake his head ever so slightly. He had no energy at all.

"Kpow!" went the gun. The King woke up. It was dawn. The fire was still lit. The party was resting, and the ground was dry. The King ran to see the tiger's body. It was gone. Nowhere could the body of the tiger be found. Everyone woke up, got ready, and had a delicious breakfast. All were feeling well, fresh and alive. But there was a great deal of confusion about the missing body.

Listen... The King was not disappointed, but was feeling rather relieved and at peace. He was glad just to be alive--to breathe the beautiful forest air that he had never noticed before. He was glad to see his son, who was usually cheerful. Although on this day, the boy was quiet, still recovering from the tiger hunt. "Cheer up my boy and be yourself! I like you just the way you are!" said the King.

Seldom did the King feel an adoration for his little boy.

His mighty elephant Shirley, he did thank. "Oh, you always have served me well, you mighty beast. And I love you!" he said, as he patted her big tummy. To many, an elephant was nothing but a lifeless vehicle. The elephant responded to the King's warm greetings, with a friendly greeting of her own. She raised her trunk and trumpeted that beautiful sound which elephants make, and then waved her head back and forth to everyone's surprise, as if saying "Thank you! I love you to." Many of the King’s followers had to silently admit, "Yes, this elephant was alive indeed!"

Listen... All thought that the behavior of the King was strange. Many thought that he had been drinking through the night. Jordon wanted to make a suggestion, but he was afraid that the King may become angry. Thus he spoke very humbly, "Dear Majesty, we might wait awhile if you are not feeling well."

"Oh Jordon! I'm feeling fine! Let's go!" replied the King. That was very strange. It was the first time that the King had called his servant by name.

They marched forward for awhile, and lo and behold! At a distance, they saw another tiger. Jordon had spotted him through his binoculars. "There's our chance to go home with something to show," said Jordon. All were awaiting orders from the King, but the King did not respond. "Dear King, shall we shoot this one?" asked Jordon.

Listen... The King remembered the pain he had felt in his dream, because the dream he had was not like most others; never had he ever dreamt a dream that felt truly real.

The King remembered the burning fever, the throbbing pain, the feeling of almost fainting, and the great fear he felt as he saw his blood covered leg.

As he remembered the unbearable pain which he himself had gone through, his conscience told him that he did not want to inflict this pain on any other—not even a tiger. “Yes,” he thought, “the tiger’s own ways are cruel indeed.”

“Nevertheless, this was the way of nature,” he reasoned. The tiger was not of any threat to them, and his conscience now told him not to impart the pain he had felt onto any other living thing. So how would he respond to Jordon’s question?

With a warm, emotional feeling, the King responded, "No. No."

"No, it hurts," continued the King, "it hurts." The King was almost in tears, but quickly regained his composure. With mightiness and self confidence, he spoke, "No! We will not shoot this one! It looks to be an infant tiger! His head is too small to place above my throne!"
