Thus, with his mother’s blessings, and his father’s indifference, Ravi was beginning a new chapter in his life. “Two bouquets today, Ravi?!,” Juhi giggled, as he came in through the door with a big smile. She figured that things must have gone well with his father. “Why is there a truck parked outside?” she asked. “You’ll see,” he said. As she looked curiously, the truck driver brought out 10 more bouquets of flowers. “You brought the whole garden?!” she asked, with a big smile and a surprised look. She giggled. As her big, beautiful eyes met his eyes, his heart was filled with a powerful, spontaneous attraction. He was no less infatuated with her then the days of their college years. They hugged. “Ravi, you’re too much!” she said, giggling. Ravi’s smile quickly turned into disappointment. “I love you more than you love me,” he said, in a mellow tone. She hugged him, looked at him very gently in the eyes, took one bouquet of flowers, and said, “These are for you!” “That doesn’t count! I brought those for you!” he said, as he hit her on the head with a sofa pillow. They had a good laugh. |
